St. Bernardus Abt 12 is regarded as one of the best beers in the world and is therefore the showpiece of our brewery, the absolute top in the hierarchy of St. Bernardus beers. It is brewed in the classic 'Quadrupel' style according to the original recipe from 1946.

Character, taste, aromas

St. Bernardus Abt 12 has a very fruity aroma, coming from our own specific yeast. It is packed with complex flavors and excels with its long bittersweet finish. The beer is easy to drink due to its soft, full-bodied taste and perfect balance between bitter and sweet. To drink an Abbot is to enjoy life to the fullest.

Pairing: Due to its tasteful character, the Abt 12 can hold its own against a range of rich meat dishes and game preparations, such as beef stew and rabbit. Blue cheese, for example Roquefort, is also a 'perfect match' with the Abt 12. And don't forget to combine it with chocolate for an unexpected but very successful combination.
