Brouwerij St.Bernardus Description

St. Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer, brewed in the classic 'Double' style. The original recipe dates back to when we were still brewing under license for the fathers of Westvleteren.

Character, taste, aromas

St. Bernardus Prior 8 excels with its fruity aroma, tending towards tree fruits such as red apple, but also with an exotic touch of figs and dates. The whole is rounded off with impressions of caramel and roasted malt. The malt-fruity full taste provides a perfect balance between bitter & sweet.

Pairing: You can safely combine a beer with so much character with tasteful and heavier dishes such as stews or meat dishes with creamy sauces. Despite its strong character, it is also a good aperitif beer.
