Dansk Mjød Description

 

Hibiscus gives Viking Blod, meaning blood, its characteristic reddish colour, evocative of the blood Vikings spilled in their fierce battles, hence the name. 

However, this mead is completely harmless, with a sweet, floral taste.

Palate: We have combined our traditional mead with dried hibiscus and ginger to make Viking Blod, thus giving it a distinctive colour as well as a spicy, aromatic and floral taste. Viking Blod is a little like a good madeira.
