Warre’s Late Bottled Vintage Porto 2009 is a deep and expressive wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley, made from a classic blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca. In the glass, it shows a dense ruby color, hinting at its richness. The nose is immediately generous, offering layers of ripe black cherry, blackberry compote, and dark plum, interwoven with notes of dried figs, cocoa powder, and warm baking spices like nutmeg and clove. As it opens, subtle touches of licorice and a faint floral lift add complexity. On the palate, the wine is velvety and full-bodied, with a core of concentrated dark fruit supported by chocolate, roasted nuts, and a gentle smokiness from its oak aging.
