This food-friendly Cabernet Franc-based red is a refreshing and intriguing take on the varietal, so much so that it has become one of the most honored and loyally followed wines Barboursville produces in Virginia. The winery's vines originate from the Loire Valley, as well as Pomerol and St Émilion, ideal foundations for wines built for elegance and complexity as well as considerable age-worthiness.
Tasting Notes:
90% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot. Dark garnet core, with brilliant clarity in the glass. Intense, effusively luscious flavors of ripe red berries with notes of caramelized fig, cherry, and plum, elegantly woven together in barrel. A long finish and vivid tannins yet a remarkably soft palate.
