Vincent Paris’ 2020 Saint-Joseph is an excellent wine, tipping the scales at a very svelte thirteen percent in this vintage. The bouquet is deep, complex and beautifully precise, wafting from the glass in a mix of black raspberries, pepper, black olive, hung game, stony soil tones, just a hint of cedar and a lovely topnote of syrah smokiness. On the palate the wine is pure, fullbodied, focused and very elegant in profile, with a fine core, excellent mineral drive and grip, firm tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish. This needs a few years in the cellar to soften up its tannins, but it is going to be excellent once it has blossomed. 2025-2045.

Viticulture: Prunes to only four bunches of grapes per vine (the norm is between five and seven) which concentrates the vines' growing power and cuts down on the need for green harvests.

Vinification: Ferments at low temps, vinfied 2/3 in barrel and 1/3 in tank

Aging: Oak barrels for up to 12 months
