Johannes Leitz crafts this classic Rheingau Riesling from fruit grown in the Drachenstein vineyard in Rudesheim. Drachenstein, which translates as Dragonstone, takes its name from the fossil impressions of dinosaur tracks found in the slate that makes up the vineyard soil.
That slate contributes to the crisp mineral quality of the wines produced from the fruit there, and Leitz utilizes that character to produce this delicious, off dry rendition of Germany's great grape reisling.
