From the Spanish island poet Robert Graves called home for over 50 years comes a red wine that's progressing, well, rather poetically in the bottle.
The 2011 Castell de Santueri is a savory blend of native varietals Callet (35%) and Mantonegre (35%), along with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Still full-bodied and lush with "grippy" tannins, the ripe plum notes give way to chicory and dried herbs on the finish. Time has hardly touched this wine!
This red will pair beautifully with stews, game, grilled meats, and hearty vegetarian dishes.
