Maison Benoit Jules Description

100% Gamay St Romain from 20 to 50 year old vines, planted on granitic soil in the southern part of the Loire Valley, on the first foothills of the Massif Central. The grapes are harvested by hand. 1/3 whole bunches, 2 weeks of maceration, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maturation in concrete vats.

This is a fruity and spicy red with a mineral side; notes of crunchy red berries, grey pepper, forest floor. A lot of precision and all the typicity of Gamay, magnified by the work of the winemaker. 12.5% alcohol.
