One of Chile’s oldest wineries, Santa Carolina was established in 1875 by Luis Pereira, named after his wife, Carolina Iñguez. In 1889, the Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded a gold medal in “Exposition Universelle de Paris”, France, which made it the first Chilean wine to earn international recognition.
Bright garnet in color with violet hues, this Cabernet shows good concentration in the glass. On the nose it displays aromas of black pepper, red cherries and nuances of fine, well-integrated wood. On the palate it is elegant and presents a great purity of fresh red and black fruits, tasty tannins, with good grip, and a finish in which nuances of vanilla and cedar appear.
Big, ripe and filled with concentrated dark fruit flavors supported by fresh acidity and medium-grain tannins. Juicy finish offers hints of citrus zest. Drink now through 2025.
